Your gender, your age and who you would like to chat with. No name, no phone number, no email.
Allow your camera
Your browser asks once. You see yourself first, so you can find good light before anyone else sees you.
Meet someone new
You are paired one on one in seconds. Talk, type in the chat box or send a reaction, and tap Next to meet someone else.
Made for how Naija chats
Easy on your phone, kind to your pocket, and free from start to finish.
Free from start to finish
No coins, no subscription and nothing to unlock with money. One clearly labelled sponsor link pays for the site.
Naija first, world welcome
Earn karma by chatting and switch on the country filter to keep it to Nigeria, or leave it off and meet people abroad.
Made for your phone
Runs in the browser on Android and iPhone. No app to download and nothing eating your storage.
Talk, type or react
Every chat has a text box and emoji reactions beside the video, for the moments when talking out loud is not an option.

Your gist stays between the two of you
Video and sound go straight to the person you are chatting with. IgboChat records nothing and stores nothing, and there is no account that could tie a chat back to you.
Block and next
One tap skips anyone you don't vibe with, and you will never be paired with them again.
Reports reach a real person
A report ends the chat at once and sends a still frame to human moderators. Repeat offenders are banned.
18+, and never about money
IgboChat will never ask you for money. Anyone asking for cash, airtime or gift cards is not from us: block them.
Questions? No wahala.
Quick answers before your first chat.
Is IgboChat only for Igbo people?
No. The name nods to Ndi Igbo, but everyone is welcome: Yoruba, Hausa and Pidgin speakers, people from every state, and Nigerians abroad. Greet people in any language you like.
Is IgboChat free?
Yes. There are no credits, no subscription and nothing to unlock with money. IgboChat is paid for by a single sponsor link that is clearly labelled as an ad.
Will I only meet people in Nigeria?
Not by default. IgboChat shares its pool of chatters with a wider network, so you also meet people from other countries. Karma, which you earn by chatting, unlocks a country filter that narrows your matches to Nigeria.
Do I need to download an app?
No. IgboChat runs in the browser on Android, iPhone and laptops. Open the page, answer three questions and allow your camera.
How much data does a chat use?
Video is the heavy part, roughly what any video call uses. If your bundle is tight, chat on Wi-Fi when you can and keep sessions shorter on mobile data.
Will IgboChat ever ask me for money?
Never. If anyone in a chat asks you for money, airtime, gift cards or bank details, it is not IgboChat. Tap the flag, choose Block and next or report them, and do not send anything.
What if someone is rude or inappropriate?
Tap the flag above their video. Block and next skips them for good. A report ends the chat, sends a still frame to moderators and gets repeat offenders banned.
